The label states that Sir Edward’s was distilled and aged in Scotland, in an oak cask, and then blended and bottled in a town called Blanquefort, France. The scotch is bottled and blended by the French company Bardinet. Comments out there are stating that it is a “French-made scotch.”
What a great find this was. It was an excellent price. I have not opened it up. Not sure if I will do that. The Wine Enthusiast -Highlands, Scotland- "Layers of honey, flowers and light toffee...The palate entry is totally dry then turns bittersweet; at midpalate tastes of burnt apple crisp, orange zest, fudge and candied nuts appear. Finishes as grandly and stately as it began." (Source - TotalWine.com)
We enjoyed the long finish, combined with toffee, fruit and chocolate. It is somewhat complex and is aged in American oak and sherry casks.
We enjoy the fresh bright fruit notes. Has a great medium gold color, and we experienced some caramel. Great every day Scotch.
We enjoy the fact that this can be a great every day dram, at an affordable price point. It has been finished in Kentucky oak casks. Also enjoyed the toffee sweetness. Great Highland Single Malt Scotch.
Considered "The Original" and presents a great Highland Single Malt Whisky. It matured in American white casks for 10 years. We enjoyed the very fruity, fresh balance, and found vanilla and toffee hints.
I discovered this bottle on our trip to Florida. The Irish store and restaurant in Destin had a number of these bottles. Something different and fun to have. The whiskey is the same as in the "regular" bottles. It has this beautiful pale amber color. The standard Tullamore DEW whiskey is a mild blend, and has somewhat of a wooden touch to it. The smooth, sweet, somewhat spicy, and gentle finish, makes it a great to-go-to whiskey. I enjoyed it with an Irish meat pie. Great combination.
This is another Irish classic. We have enjoyed the price point. It is smooth, shows a hint of peppery spice, combined with the sweetness of honey. We enjoyed the smoothness and that it stayed around on the palate. Keep in mind that it is a blend of single malt and grain whiskeys, and matured in Kentucky bourbon oak casks.
It is considered one of the iconic Irish whiskey choices. Triple distilled and using techniques dating back to 1740. There is an aging process of at least four years. It is aged in a ex-sherry and ex-bourbon casks combination.
India- This is a very unique Single Malt Whisky, which is non-chilled filtered. It is made from barley grown at the foothills of the Himalayas. The barrels are American white coal bourbon. You might find some limitations regarding availability.
I have been on the search for this whisky for some time. Abasolo is a light whisky, with somewhat of an oily touch. If you like a pepper feel on the finish on the end, then this is a great choice. The initial sweetness is definitely leaving at the end of the tasting experience. Some people enjoy it on the rocks. I prefer the neat version. Great find and buy.
